Pathway to Coaching


WVSC has a proud history of not just developing great skiers but also awesome, inspiring world class coaches!

Brand new for the 2023/24 season WVSC is thrilled to be introducing a Pathways to Coaching Program.  This program is designed to progress and bridge young adults from being a student in the NGSL or Race Program to becoming a fully fledged ski coach and will see them advance from the age of 15 to an Entry Level Alpine Canada Alpin Canadian Ski Coaches (EL ACA CSC) onto the ACA Coach Pathway.

The Coach in Training (CIT) program is a licensing program for prospective coaches. There are two (2) registration/licensing programs underneath the "Coach in Training" program.

COACH IN TRAINING - SUPPORTING AN ACCREDITED ACA-CSC COACH:

An introduction to alpine ski coaching for athletes transitioning from competitive ski racing, volunteer coaches, and parents interested in assisting an accredited coach with the management of a group at the Gliding Start and Skier Essentials stage of development with their local club. This program is meant to pair up a prospective coach with a mentor coach during the initial stages of learning how to be a coach while supporting young developing ski racers.

This program will run every Sunday of the season (15 days expected) 10am - 3pm and is available to the U14 - U16 age category 13 years old by December 31, members entering at 13 will learn for a minimum of two seasons to progress to certification.

Cost

BC Resident $700.00, Non-BC Resident $775.00
