Dusan Grasic

Program Director and Head Coach

Dusan has deep roots in the Columbia Valley as a long-time resident, former BC Team Head Coach, WVSC member and parent of WVSC alumni. Dusan was born in Slovenia where he grew up as an aspiring ski racer and began his coaching career. As a coach, Dusan has done it all. He has coached grassroots ski clubs, provincial teams, national teams and Olympic teams. His impressive career has seen him reach the highest levels in Canadian ski racing as Domestic Director and Program Director of Alpine Canada, Head Coach of the Men’s Tech Europa Cup Team, Men’s Tech World Cup Team and Olympic Team. His biggest coaching successes include coaching Thomas Grandi during his GS wins at the 2004 Alta Badia and Flachau World Cup - the first Canadian Technical wins on the World Cup circuit in Canadian history - and coaching Canadian alpine athletes at two Olympics. As a passionate skier for life himself, Dusan believes the Columbia Valley is the best place in the world to be a skier. After coaching around the world, he looks forward to spending more time in his adopted hometown and with his home club. He is excited to share his love of skiing and world class coaching experiences with WVSC athletes, coaches and families. He invites current and future ski enthusiasts to join the WVSC to get active, have fun, race, recreate, shred pow and improve their skiing skills.

Helmut Spiegl

Helmut is a world-renowned coach who brings years of experience ranging from coaching grass roots local ski clubs, regional programs, provincial teams and the Austrian, Canadian and Australian national ski teams. Helmut has enjoyed great success at all levels of his coaching, developing skiers for life and world class athletes during the past 40 years. Career highlights so far have undoubtedly been his coaching assignments at five Winter Olympic Games. Having made the Columbia Valley his home, Helmut has shared his love and vast knowledge of skiing with countless local athletes. His passion for skiing and all things WVSC is infectious. If you’ve ever skied with Helmut you invariably know the meaning of his nickname “Helmi-magic”.


Noah Storey

Super stoked to have Noah joining us as our U12/14 race coach and assistant to the Program Director for the 2023/34 season!

Noah is a 24 year old who loves to ski! He moved from Peterborough Ontario to Invermere in early 2022 to work as a full time Ski Patroller and now has 2 seasons of patrol under his belt, as well spending the 2022/23 season coaching for WVSC.

Noah became a firm favourite of our race athletes, and he has a bit of a fan club going!

Noah raced competitively with Devils Elbow until the age of 18 within Ontario.

He loves a good movie, time spent outdoors, and could most likely out-eat you in T-Bar. Welcome back to the WVSC family Noah!

Tyler Whitteker

Taking on our Nancy Greene Ski League for 2023/24 is Tyler Whitteker!

Tyler is 24 years old originally from the nations beautiful capital Ottawa, ON. After graduating from his college program the outdoor adventurist, he moved out to Invermere, BC in the summer of 2018 to work for Kootenay River Runners, you’ll find him there in the summer months! After his first season he had the opportunity to travel and work out in Dubai for 6.5 months missing his first ever winter season! Tyler knew he wanted to come back to be part of Panorama to instruct/coach. There’s just something about these mountains! He has worked for Pano Ski & Ride as a LVL 2 ski and snowboard instructor for the past 4 years starting his 5th season this fall.

Tyler joined Team Windy in 2022 having a huge impact on our kids and families. He is an absolute favourite of our youngest athletes.

His other hobbies included whitewater kayaking, SUPing on the lake, and hiking in the area during the off season! Tyler is a fun, encouraging and enthusiastic coach and loves to see kids thrive. Working directly with our top dog Dusan Grasic, he can’t wait to take up the reins as our Nancy Greene Head Coach for the 23/24 season and welcome all the kids to the hill to enjoy their best season ever! Join us in welcoming Tyler to the Team Windy family

 Ski & Ride Coaches

The Windermere Valley Ski Club (WVSC) has fostered a close relationship with the world class Panorama Ski and Ride School. For over 10 years this relationship has ensured the club is able to provide athletes with mature, highly skilled coaches who are dedicated to fostering a love of skiing. All coaches are both ACA and CSIA trained. Under the mentorship of Dusan Grasic our coaches are provided the training and support they need to bring the best out of all WVSC young athletes. 

We are truly grateful for the relationship with have with the Ski and Ride School, their support helps us to keep the sport accessible to all families in the Windermere Valley.


This ski club allows our children to develop at the right pace with coaching at all stages.
